Story
After a fantastic assessment day, Restless Development have chosen for me to go to ZAMBIA for a 3 month Government Voluntary Programme.
For this fantastic opportunity, I need to raise £800.
You may ask, “why should I donate?”
Carry on reading and you will soon learn the value of £1 to us is very little compared to what it means for others!
Zambia is registered as one of the least developed countries, and 64% of the population live below the poverty line. Zambia is also one of the most affected countries of HIV.
What will I be doing out there?
“VPEs conduct a variety of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and Livelihoods and Civic participation lessons using non-formal education methods, set up and manage Resource Centres, extracurricular programmes including awareness raising events. They also use above activities to build the capacity of the target audiences to help foster sustainability after the intervention. Additionally, our VPEs empower other young people to effectively participate in the development and governance of their own communities through active engagement with their local leaders.”

Where will your money go?
Your money will be going directly to the charity and implemented on the projects within Zambia.
As a volunteer, I will be a part of these funds being used for resources for the communities.
So don’t go thinking you are paying for a nice relaxing holiday for me....
I will be living the basic lifestyle many people in Zambia live. I will have the privilege to stay with families who are involved in the projects.
