Story
During the last 18 months I have been entering different charity events to help keep me motivated with my goal of losing weight and becoming fit and healthy. I have not asked for sponsorship or donations for any of these events, but made donations myself.. ..until now. Next year I have signed up to help Macmillan Cancer Support by joining one of their challenges - the Jordan Hike. This will be a real test of my fitness and endurance, and will be a big challenge for me, partly due to the lack of sanitary facilities on the hike (apparently there are none!), but not least as I have committed to raise £3200 minimum for the charity.
Like my own family, almost everyone has been affected by cancer, either directly themselves, or family members or friends, and I'm sure you understand the important part that charities like Macmillan play in providing support and practical help. The money I will raise, with your backing, will help patients and their families, and could be put to good use for example by funding 2 Macmillan Nurses for 1 working week, and paying for a convalescent break for someone with cancer and their carer.
If you feel able to help with my fundraising I would be extremely grateful. In this instance size really doesn't matter, any donation welcome - small or large. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and if you've made a donation then thank you again.
