Story
I've decided to set myself a challenge and in my efforts I'd like to try and raise some money for a very worthy cause - the Prosthetics Department at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness.
7 years ago my brother Steve seriously damaged his right foot as a result of an industrial accident. He was airlifted to Raigmore Hospital where he underwent a series of operations but unfortunately the damage was too severe and he had to undergo a below the knee amputation. Two weeks after his accident Steve was fitted with his first prosthetic foot and since then there has been no holding him back! His determination and attitude is inspiring - he even became World Champion in parabadminton after winning gold at the world championships in 2011!
Steve's amazing progress and ability to keep going and push his limits has only been made possible thanks to the fantastic effort and care he receives from the Prosthetics Department at Raigmore Hospital. From castings and moulds, to protective sleeves and the prosthetic foot itself, they provide Steve with all round care. And as a young (ish!), active guy, Steve does put a lot of wear and tear on his prosthetic limb and over the years has presented some challenges to the Prosthetics team to keep him on his feet!
With all that said, it would be fantastic to try and give a little something back. Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and any donation you can make will be very much appreciated.
