Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My friends Linda and Paul lost their son Leo to meningitis when he was just 2 years old. Leo was a beloved son, brother, nephew and grandson and his loss was devastating for the whole family, and continues to be felt keenly. The work of MRF over the last few years has helped to develop vaccines that can save lives and supports the ambition of defeating meningitis by 2030.
Anyone who knows me knows that despite the odd dabble, I am NAR (not a runner), and I'm also rapidly approaching an age *cough* where running, especially over distance, becomes even harder and more of a challenge. So it is with some trepidation I have committed to running the London Marathon in October 2022 to raise money for MRF in memory of Leo.
Please dig as deeply as you can - not only am I running further than I ever have at my advanced age, but I have committed to raising £2500 in doing so, so I need your support!
Please look in your wallet, down the back of the sofa and anywhere else you might find a few spare pennies. We need everything we can get! I'll be putting up regular updates and you should also be able to track my (currently woeful) progress in training via my Strava updates.
In advance I thank you for anything you can put towards the, fundraising goal, and also any moral and emotional support you can supply. I'm going to need it! Thank you so much. See you at the finishing line?! Lindsay xx
