Story
As many of you will be aware my very good friend Louise has recently lost her fight to cancer. She put up a tough fight but unfortunately was unable to beat this cruel disease. Lou Lou was the most inspirational lady I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and I am so proud that she was my friend. She will be sorely missed by so many people. Towards the end of her fight she was cared for by a fantastic team of people at Dorothy House. I had no idea of the services they provide until now and after visiting Lou out at Winsley I can honestly say it is the most peaceful lovely location and the work they do there is fantastic. This service is unfortunately very expensive to provide so I am asking you all to dig deep and help me raise some money for this fantastic cause.
Wouldn't it be lovely if the 'C Word' didn't exist? When you hear the word 'cancer' it send shivers down your spine so when someone very close to you has it or has lost their life to it you can imagine the emotions that go through people minds, trust me its not nice. What makes it worse is there's nothing you can do to help physically, only emotionally. We are all affected by this nasty disease in some way or another and will all be hurt greatly by it. Having seen first hand how this monster affects life it has made me even more passionate to help raise funds for this very worthy cause.
I know times are tough and everyone is short of money at the moment but I would really appreciate any help you can give me in raising some money. For my sins, I have signed up to run the Bristol half marathon in September. Now I know you all think that I'm fit as a fiddle and this should be a walk in the park for me but believe me I am not a natural runner. Its all very well going to the gym and prancing around on the machines and in the weights area but I am starting as a complete novice when it comes to running but do hope to train hard and complete it in a good time to make Lou Lou proud. I have only ever done one half marathon before and my knee gave way with a mile to go so lets hope I am not haunted by the same problems this time around!
Any little amount that you can spare would be so greatly appreciated and if you find yourself at a loose end on Sunday 15th September please feel free to come and cheer me on and help me get through 13.1 gruling miles!!!
Lots of love
