My Dad Alan Lauren (Uren), passed away after a bladder removal operation.  He was always a little scrapper who fought his entire life to make life better for himself and his family.  He had an amazing career, and loved every minute of it.  In his spare time he would entertain others with his jokes and his piano playing.  He started in his first band when he was about 14, and continued to play right up until his operation. No matter where he lived, he always found a band to join, and really enjoyed making everyone smile.

He worked for Dixons for over 40 years and has been described as "an amazing leader and mentor" as well as being larger than life.  He started out as a junior salesman in Manchester and finished his 40 year career as managing director of Dixons business services.  He didn't stop there though, he then went on to mentor others in places like HSBC, Protocol and Create etc., he was always on the go and didn't like to sit still.

His passing is a great loss not only to myself and my family but to those that knew him well.

Oh behalf of Linda, Lindsay and Tracey we would like to thank everyone who donates as well as those who have sent lovely messages to us over the last few days, it is of comfort to know what impact he had on so many people in his lifetime.
