2016 was a tragic year for my family. On the 15th of July my big brother had a catastrophic accident at home, which resulted in multiple spinal injuries, that sadly brought his life to an abrupt end on the 10th September. John was only 40 years young!

A year to the date (10.09.17), I am going to put my best foot forward in his memory and tackle the Great North Run (I can hear him laughing right now!), although it may be more of a walk! As someone who hasn't done much exercise for over twenty years this will not be easy, however John always encouraged endeavour and it's with that in mind, that I will try to do my best. 

I'm raising funds for the Spinal Injuries Association, a charity that I hoped one day would help him rebuild his life. Sadly, it wasn't to be for John, so I would very much like to support others who have been paralysed.

For my family, our lives will never be the same again, but we must do all we can to honour him. I made a life long promise to John to do all I could to make him proud of his "little Sis"...
