As midwives we appreciate the importance of offering family-centred and personalised bereavement support for families suffering the loss of a baby before or at birth. Abigail's charity has been supporting Medway Maternity for several years to enable families to access compassionate and expert support when dealing with such a devastating loss. No request for help is ever too much and the team at Abigail's are always at hand to deliver the very best of support, from the funding of our beautiful bereavement suite, a sanctity for recovery and reflection to bespoke staff training - we are incredibly grateful. We hope that running the Great North Run and raising vital funds for this invaluable charity will go someway to thanking them for all their dedication to our department but also go someway to supporting them in providing this service for hospital throughout the UK.
