Well Hi there everyone - I  have managed to complete the 5days trekking the Great Wall of China.  It was a most amazing experience.  There were many times I was well out of my 'comfort zone' but knowing how much support I had from you all and all the money that was going to RNID I kept going and crossed that finish line.   

 Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  I am 56 years old and seriously deaf.  My deafness has progressively worsened over the last 10 years.  One ear deteriorated very quickly and unfortunately the other ear is following fast.  We have no family history of deafness and I have been told it is general wear and tear.  This is particularly frustrating as I have not been exposed to loud noise through work, sport or for example loud music.

I hope to raise £5000 and awareness for the Royal National Institute for the Deaf by completing my Great Wall of China challenge. The first morning involves 1200 steps upwards !!!  Sounds like hard work.   The RNID  do great things to help the hard of hearing and the deaf as I am finding out rapidly !!
