Story
In October 2015 our mum was diagnosed with breast cancer, a healthy 40 something year old woman...who to look at you wouldn't have had a clue she had this awful illness spreading inside her, this is what made the diagnosis even harder to accept- so life changing, so unexpected.
We are writing this message 2 months into diagnosis and since then our mum has had 3 operations to remove the tumour and is currently awaiting her next in January 2016, she will then move onto her treatment all under the care of the wonderful Royal Marsden. Without the care & support of this amazing hospital I don't know where my mum would be now, the urgency this hospital has along with the extensive care they provide is beyond outstanding ..its beyond words in fact.
We are so thankful that our mum is one of the 'lucky' ones and she will win this battle with the help of the Royal Marsden and all of the love and support she has from her family and friends. However this does cause you to reflect upon all those other people that unfortunately aren't as lucky for various different reasons and makes you want to do something, anything to help beat cancer!
Never being affected first hand by cancer and being ignorant to it, not realising the impact it has on a persons life has made us want to make a difference to those unfortunate people who are going through it or are yet to be diagnosed with a form of cancer;
So Myself & Sister alongside 4 of our closest friends have decided to take part in walking 14 miles from The Royal Marsden Chelsea to Sutton in a bid to raise money towards this hospital to help provide the best possible diagnosis, treatment and care for those affected by cancer.
