THE CHALLENGE
Hi
Me and seven of my close friends have come together and decided to do the GREAT NORTH RUN ON THE 13th OF SEPTEMBER.It's a half marathon at 13.1 miles , we are not the fittest group of lads so this will be a real hard test and push us to the limits. But with plenty of training already on the way we are sure we can do ourselves proud and the charity we are running for.
WHY ????
My son Liam junior who is ten yrs old was diagnosed with a rare disease two years ago it's called DUCHENNE MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY .This is a muscle wasting condition which basically means that as Liam grows older his muscles weaken significantly meaning all the basics we do as walking , climbing, sitting up are all a real challenge for him, and as time goes he will be bound to a wheelchair and rely on round the clock care. DUCHENNE currently has no known cure and is life limiting to around the late teens to mid twenties so time is not on our side as each day passes liam will continue to get weaker. So the time to act is now the more we can achieve will go to hopefully finding a cure for DUCHENNE.
HOW????
You can help us on our journey by giving as little or as much as you like to help us raise as much as we possibly can for ACTION DUCHENNE.
All proceeds go directly to the charity which will help towards the great work the charity does. Please share and like our page and a big thanks for taking the time to look through our page.
