Story

On 28th June 2017, the world lost a true gentleman, Michael Almond.

Michael was a much loved son, brother and friend, who was taken from this world too early, at an age of just 27 years old. He was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour which unfortunately took his life as he began his treatment. From the moment Michael was diagnosed with the brain tumour, he showed only optimism and courage. No complaints were ever made, even though they would have been just. Instead, his great and infectious sense of humour and attitude to life would shine through, and keep those around him laughing and eased of worries. In his passing, Michael also saved a number of lives by donating his organs, and has inspired many close to him to become organ donors as well.

He will be greatly and forever missed by all those who knew and loved him.

In Michael's memory, I will now be running the Great North Run for Brain Tumour Research, a fantastic charity who aim to provide vital breakthroughs against this cruel disease that takes many lives.

Any donation of any size will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Liam

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
