Story
I am raising money for Wildlife Aid by running 26.2 miles, my first marathon (which was postponed) , in Brighton on Sunday 12th September 2021.
A few years years ago I could hardly walk due to a trampoline accident and now i'm booked into a marathon! It's hard to believe, but now its training time. So you may spot me, and my head torch, battling the wind and rain most evenings around Leatherhead, Ashtead & Epsom!
I am raising money for Wildlife Aid Foundation, as I have seen first-hand how much it puts into caring for, and providing education about, British wildlife.
In Britain, we are fortunate to enjoy a huge diversity of native animals and birds, but every year millions of these animals are killed, injured or suffer some trauma. This is either as a result of direct contact with man or the impact that we have on the environment.
WAF's aim is to help redress the balance between man and nature and to play our part in preserving our heritage for future generations to enjoy. While there are many organisations and schemes dedicated to the vital work of preserving natural habitats, there are still very few which help preserve the species that live within them. WAF is dedicated to the rescue, care and rehabilitation of sick, injured or orphaned wildlife.
