Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
We are raising money for our lovely one of a kind dad Nick Dobinson who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and is still battling this awful disease for over 12 years. Myself, my brother Rick and our very close family friend Brad have decided to take part in the Skydive for MS leap day on the 29th of May 2022. Every donation that goes to The MS society will be a step closer to finding a cure for this awful disease which thousands of people in the UK are faced with everyday. You can be any age and at anytime be diagnosed with MS.
Here below is an explanation of what Multiple Sclerosis is.
More than 130,000 people in the UK have MS. In the UK people are most likely to find out they have MS in their thirties, forties and fifties. But the first signs of MS often start years earlier. Many people notice their first symptoms years before they get their diagnosis.
MS affects almost three times as many women as men. People from many different ethnic backgrounds can get MS.
You don't inherit MS, but family members do have a slightly higher risk of developing it. As well as genes you get from your parents, MS might be caused by certain infections, smoking, being very overweight and being low in vitamin D (which you get from being in the sun).
I hope after reading this information you have a better understanding and idea of what MS is and how today you can make a difference to everyone who has this disease in the UK. However small any amount of money will help us stop MS. Myself, Rick and Brad will be taking the Big Leap on the 29th of May 2022 and we hope we can count on your support to help Nick and thousands like my dad who struggle with MS everyday.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and supporting us it really means the world. Please share our dads story on all social platforms so we can support the MS Society find the cure to MS.
WE WILL STOP MS!
