HUGE THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HAS DONATED SO FAR.
So, I have completed the run! Pretty tiring (didnt realise the first mile and a half was going to be one massive hill!) and the weather was probably the hottest its been all summer. But apart from that, it was all good.
Theres a photo up with my 'medal' to prove i actually got to the end! and my times are up on the nike + run to the beat page. Heres a few more http://sportcam.net/CompetitorDetail1.aspx?ID=5729808+&type=No%2C470+&Name
Only 20 out of about 15,000 runners did it for Mental Health Foundation, so if you can support in any way that would be great.
You've got until November 25th to Donate...so anyone whos just got a student loan, a new job, or a tax credit (unlikely!), stick a few quid in. its for such a good cause.
xxxxxxxx
I'm going to be running the Nike+ 'run to the beat' half marathon on the 25th September 2011. The course is 13.1 miles around Grenwich Peninsula and starts and finishes at the 02 arena/ Millenium dome/ big round waste of taxpayers money.
I am running on behalf of the Mental Health Foundation. Roughly 1 in 4 people in the UK have a mental health Through active research, the foundation hopes to:
- improve policy and practice in mental health
- campaign to raise awareness and remove stigma
- provide high quality advice and information to help people better manage their mental health and wellbeing
- provide practical solutions to improve the quality and access to mental health services in the UK
Its for a really good cause, and having never ran this far before, will be a challenge for me! Any donations you could give would be fantastic. I'll keep you all updated with my attempts at training on here.
