This is a little bit of info to explain why I’ve chosen to raise money for this charity in particular……a great friend of our family has recently discovered that he has prostate cancer. This was discovered by chance after a routine health check through work finding it in its very early stages. After initial consultations with an NHS specialist the route recommended was intrusive surgical removal along with its lengthy recovery and side effects. It was only because his wonderful wife luckily did some extra research and found this alternative treatment, that they knew about it. After contacting this specialist and being accepted as a suitable patient, this procedure was carried out a few weeks ago. As prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men we want this treatment to be available to all and not just through a private clinic.
