Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Gita and I are on a mission to raise £25K to help a small community in the Gorkha District of Nepal hit by the devastating earthquake in April 2015.
The village of Shreenatkot has around 3,000 inhabitants and the funds raised will help to build a school and community centre constructed to better withstand future risk of earthquake. The community is still suffering greatly more than a year after the earthquake. Despite the tremendous adversity they are taking proactive action to do what is within their own power to improve their situation. It really is humbling, but they need your help!
We have already raised just over £2,000, mainly from the proceeds of a 'Murder Mystery' evening and from other small events. The 5K run will be the first part of a triathlon (Gita and Lesley style). Well we will need a bit of a break between events to recover! Watch this space for our future plans!!!!
Any contribution you can make really will be life changing for these kind and gentle people. It will also help us to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Practical Action - the totally amazing charity we both work for: www.practicalaction.org
Please, please, please JustGive! Every penny really will make a difference.
