Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I took part in the Windsurfing for Cancer Research Sunrise to Sunset windsurfing challenge on Sunday May 2nd.  The venue was Datchet Waterpsorts at the Queen Mother reservoir near Windsor.  We had a team of windsurfers on the water from 5:37am to 8:37pm

It was a challenging day with the temperature playing a big part.....it was very cold (what happened to spring?!), driving rain at times and a particularly gusty and energy sapping North Easterly wind.  It was the sort of conditions that on any other day would make most sane windsurfers pack up and go home knackered after only a couple of hours.  But we didn't we kept on going fuelled by bacon sarnies and hot tea.  I managed approximately 8 hrs on the water with breaks to refuel and stand under hot showers to get some heat back into my bones.

At sunset the team had done a combined time just short of 90hrs on the water, with a minimum of 2 windsurfers out at all times.
