Story

The count down has started with the big run this Sunday! Plenty of time to sponsor me for those that have not been able to already. My charity provides real help to children and families who have had to face the loss of a Mum or Dad. It's a tiny charity compared to the big nationals and every penny makes a huge difference.

Well 9 weeks to go now and I'm up to 9 miles. That leaves me with 4 more miles to add. Training going well, 223 miles completed in training so far, dodgy knee still dodgy but holding up. Thanks again to all those that have sponsored me. I'm half way to my fundraising target, plenty of time for more donations! Cheers!

Well, week 10 of training almost done. Up to 7 miles now with 13 weeks to go. Note to self, long run in the rain + wet t-shirt = sore nipples! Thanks to all those who have sponsored me so far. Plenty of time left for those that have not had chance yet! Cheers!

Well, week 3 of the training plan done. 12 runs so far this month. Dodgy knee holding up well so far. 20 weeks to go!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

It’s been 15 years since my last half marathon and as I've hit 40 the Great North Run is officially the start of my mid-life crisis. I'm truly starting from scratch having not ventured outside running since last summer. 6 months and counting to go from 0 to 13 miles......can it be done?

Please help me raise loads of money for a local charity that has helped a mate of mine and his family through a really tough time. SeeSaw helps children and their families both before and after a major bereavement. A quote from their website sums up their work better than I ever could......"It just gave me a bit of peace when the wheels of my life came off".

It’s a tiny charity compared to the huge nationals and any money raised makes a real difference.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Cheers!

Leigh
