Story
Hello Friends, Family and Colleagues,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have always wanted to challenge myself physically but have been too lazy to finding something to start off with........until now.
I went back home (that's back up to the north in Middlesbrough not Birmingham like a lot of you Southerners think!) a few months ago when my Brother's friend mentioned he wanted to do a walk. 'Walk' I thought is he some kind of fogie or what?? He then began to explain the details of the walk and I thought to myself hang on a minute this is not some kind of fogie walk it’s a bit of a challenge!
So I decided to join him and his brother along with mine and my partner to take on the 'Lyke Wake Walk' a 40 mile walk across the North York Moors. We will begin at the crack of dawn at Osmotherly and finish late into the night at Ravenscar with a few 10-30 minute breaks to boost our energy levels with carbs and wine gums!
It's always great to do something where you can give something back so I decided to sponsor the Teeside Hospice. My partner's father Andy Mulligan was unfortunately diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in 2006 and sadly died last year in September 2010.
The hospice were absolutely fantastic in treating Andy amongst other patients. Always there to support and help whenever it was needed but most of all providing a warm and peaceful place for patients, family and friends.
Please can you donate whatever you can to this charity as they really deserve it and help support the wonderful staff in doing a truly wonderful job..........and............
...............wish me Good Luck in my Lyke Wake Walk Challenge :-)
Kindest regards,
Leena
