Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My plan is to cycle solo and unsupported between the 5 LexAutolease offices (my employer) in April 2010 - From Stirling to Amersham via Bury, Cheadle and Birmingham. Depending on the route (which I'm yet to finalise), it's going to be in the region of 650 miles over 8 days.
I'm raising money in memory of my Dad. He suffered with severe Rheumatoid Arthritis for over 30 years, yet you never heard him moan about it (not at all like me!!). He was always more concerned with others, especially his family. He carried on working regardless, even though his hands and feet were terribly affected and most everyday tasks must have been really painful. This is the reason I have chosen this charity.
In April 2006 he suffered a massive heart attack and the Doctors did not think he's make it through that night - but he did. And some weeks later he was released from hospital. Over the next few months he was in and out of hospital, even then he was more concerned about inconveniencing others, especially my mom. Then, early on 18th December 2006 he passed away, at home, with his family beside him. This is why I am also supporting the British Heart Foundation - see my other page http://original.justgiving.com/leegriffiths_bhf
