"The hours approaching, just give it your best
You've got to reach your prime.
That's when you need to put yourself to the test,
And show us a passage of time..."
I stared Couch to 5K in 2019. I'd been ill for quite some time (4 years on and off) and running was something I wanted to try to get my fitness back up. This is me absolutely knackered after 1 min run 90 seconds walk for 20 mins. Yet it clicked.
After I finished couch to 5k. I was ready to do Park Run the week after and then my appendix exploded and then I had ear surgery then covid happened.
It was then I decided to run the Great North Run that year for the MS Society. This was a big goal of mine but due to Covid it got delayed by another year.
Last year I completed the Great North Run last year. Overwhelmed by the support I had (even a little disappointed with the time) and thanks to a lot of you £700 was raised for the MS Society.
I was torn between doing it again but decided to again and had some great support from people. I mean hitting your goal is hard but doing it again!
It's a couple of days to go until I do the Great North Run again but it's good to look back and realise how far you've come. Easy to forget.
