Story
Hello All,
After receiving the devastating news that my ‘Dad’ Ken Williams had been diagnosed as having ‘Vascular Dementia’ our family did not know what to expect, but watching him slowly slipping into the clutches of this disease over the past couple of years has been heart wrenching for us all. On researching this disease it came to my attention how little was really known about dementia and how many people are affected by it, 700,000 people in the set to rise to over 1 million by 2025. This got me thinking on how I could do my little bit to help the ‘Alzheimer’s Society’ the ’s leading care and charity for people with dementia and those that care for them. I have recently taken up cycling to try and stop the middle age spread, and hearing that the Alzheimer’s Society organise a charity cycle ride from London to Paris this had to be the event for me, so I signed on the dotted line for the 300 mile, 5 day event on the 14-19th Sept 2010 – My target is to raise £1300 + All I need to do know is ask you kind people to sponsor me for this worthy cause, remember every little count’s so don’t be shy!
