Story
We lost my beautiful wife and mother to our children, Donna, to a rare form of breast cancer on the 23rd June 2021. Donna went through numerous rounds of Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy and Operations the week after we had her diagnosis, but the cancer was too aggressive and we lost the battle.
The final weeks were the hardest and as a family we wouldn't have coped without the amazing support given by Willen Hospice. I made a couple of promises to Donna before she passed, the first was to make sure I gave our children the best life I could possibly give them and the second was to give back to the people who so kindly supported us in our darkest moments. And so, this is my second promise that I am keeping, cycling from London to Paris and looking to raise as much money for Willen Hospice whose majority of income is via donations and fund raising.
For those of you who don't know who Willen Hospice are, the below is a little message from them...
Willen Hospice’s care touches thousands of local people every year. We give comfort, ease pain and reduce anxiety for patients and their loved ones. Every pound given makes a difference - as it enables us to do more for more people across Milton Keynes when and where they need us. We receive less than a quarter of our funding from the NHS, which means the rest is donated or fundraised for by amazing local people. Which is why your support is so important and so appreciated – from everyone we help, thank you.
What ever you can give will be greatly received and appreciated.
Many Thanks,
Lee.
