Tour De Blackpool · 20 September 2019

Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by the sudden cardiac death. We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

On the 16th September 2017 I lost one of my friends Josh Gilbert due to a heart attack whilst playing rugby for Thurston Rangers Rugby. Being only 25 years of age it was a massive shock and devastation to his family and friends. In memory of Josh a group of us have decided to create the Tour De Blackpool, which will involve cycling from Blackpool to Portman Road. Its a 290 mile route, it's going to take 3 days to complete the route.

All those in the group, haven't previously cycled much so it's a big ask to complete the route!
Any donations are greatfully recieved or support when finishing in Ipswich on the Sunday 29th September!

FYI!

Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions. With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young. By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions. See how your support can help by visiting www.c-r-y.org.uk
