Story
Thank you for taking time to visit my JustGiving page.
The Hull Women & Childrens hospital's neonatal unit is currently under immense strain. I never fully understood the work of the neonatal unit until I saw a colleague on television with their premature baby, that desperately needed their care 24/7. Luckily, the equipment needed was readily to hand on that occasion & the baby is now a happy, healthy toddler!
However from recent reports in the local news this unit is rapidly becoming under staffed and lacking in crucial life saving equipment- this results in desperately ill babies being transported to cities in excess of 60 miles away for life saving care. Every minute wasted in caring for a very sick baby could prove fatal and this is a heartbreaking situation that i as a parent cannot even begin to comprehend. A babies life should not be determined by luck.
The staff who work for this unit can only be described as angels!!! They NEED more team members & more equipment! So lets get behind them and raise some much needed money to ensure the children of our future are given the best possible chance of surviving!
Therefore on the 30th May 2013 we will be cycling the full 215 miles of the Trans Pennine Trail in 24 HOURS. Please help me with any donation to support this amazing cause. Please see below for further information about the neonatal department.
