Story
Imagine there's no cancer,
It's easy if you try,
No pain or suffering,
Or waiting just to die.
Imagine all the people,
Living worry free,
Without that ticking time bomb,
That no one else can see.
You may say I'm a dreamer,
But I'm not the only one,
That hopes the world will be cancer-free,
So we can live as one.
I'll be running in the Virgin London marathon on the 22nd april 2012. During this race i will also be attempting to break the WORLD RECORD for the fastest London marathon completed wearing a 10kg (20lb) weighted vest/pack. Its going to be tough, but it would be a world record if it was easy. But im confident that I will be able to take the record.
i will update this site, as i know more infomation.
The reason why i have choosen this charity is because I have been very close to alot of people that have been diagnosed with this form of cancer and have been a very strong support system to close friends who have their life influenced by this thing they call cancer.
For me it is not about a certain type of cancer. It is about KILLING THIS DISEASE OFF FOREVER. Raising money for all cancer research will help, and will work towards the greater good in making this horrible beast disappear and go to sleep forever.
Living abroad is very hard when you hear sad news from home, its hard to deal with at times, as your only way of communication is by phone. All you want to do is be by their side as they fight. All you want to do is make them smile and laugh, to help them forget the pain for just 1minute. That 1 minute may bring them 1minute, 1 hour, 1 week of extra fighting strength to push through the last course of chemo. F**K YOU CANCER!
I lost a very good friend a few years back, he was a big family man, young, funny, stong, fit and very popular person. A legend. He was diagnosed and with 4 short months...he lost his battle!! FUCK YOU CANCER!!!
RIP JAMES BARRY BACON - This one is for you. The last time I ran this race, I remember sharing a drink with you on the finish line. while you waited for your amazing sister to come across the finish line and you said to me you wanted to do it the year after.
RIP to everyone that has lost this fight.
If you are reading this and have been affected by cancer in anyway, I promise you this, im going to work so hard to try and raise as money as i can to help the reasearch in developing a cure for cancer. Thats my word
