We fight for the hope of young people to create a society built for all children

Story

Hi I'm Lee as part of my 50th birthday celebrations, I would like to do something which is not just for me but raises money for a great cause at the Children's Society. Running 5km for 50 days consecutively. is going to be tough, although I don't run regularly I have done some previous running which I hope will help as I take on this challenge. I have chosen the Children's Society simply for the for support and they offer young people in an increasingly challenging world. Their work on child poverty is strikes a chord with me personally as my parents struggled to provide for the family.

A quote from the Children's Society website reads:

Ending child poverty

The number of children in poverty is set to reach five million this year. This means young people around you are going to school hungry, getting bullied for wearing an old uniform, or missing out on activities with friends. These young people have to work extra hard to stay happy, motivated and focused on the future.

But being from a poor background shouldn’t hold a child back. We work so all families can afford to keep their children healthy, happy and hopeful, even when money is tight.

Let's give all children hope today for the tomorrow's ahead.

Thanks in anticipation

Lee
