Last year I was foolish enough to run the London marathon. My aim to to raise as much money as possible for Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology (CCO) as they had helped treated my best friend and Aunt during their battles with cancer. After crossing the line and thinking of how I never wanted to endure the awful pain again, I now find myself signed up for the 2010 Virgin London Marathon and also the 2010 Berlin marathon.

So why would I want to do something so ridiculous again? Well it is very simple really, the photo you see is of me at my wedding (I am the better looking individual on the right, the one who clearly looks like a marathon athlete! :). The other gentleman was my best man and without the aid of CCO it is very probable that there would just be me in this photo.

I also had the pleasure of the company of my Aunt at the wedding again, she might have been absent were it not for the help of CCO.

I know I am not the only one who has dear friends who are here thanks to CCO. Unfortunately, I also know people who despite every best effort, are no longer with us.

In summary, the reason I am doing this is to help reduce the number of people who lose their battles with cancer.
