Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Helen and I are taking on the huge challenge of the Virgin London marathon on Sunday 3rd October 2021.  However this is nothing compared to the challenges our beautiful boy faces in his everyday life. Our youngest son Max who is 8 years old was diagnosed with Autism in February 2017. Autism is a lifelong disability which affects how people communicate and interact with the world.

Max is completely non verbal and needs constant support, guidance and adult supervision at all times for everyday tasks. Max is the most gentle and loving little boy who has a way of leaving his mark on people when they get to meet him for the first time. He is so happy and faces his developmental challenges and health issues with a constant smile on his face. He is loved by so many, and this is proven by the fact that Max's Auntie Sarah and Uncle Billy have also chosen this charity to run for in honour of our Max. We are extremely proud of him and how he copes with his autism with such courage and determination.

As much as we live in the here and now and focus on how best to support Max,  we do have to plan for his future. However the worry is that we just don't know what his future entails and as the government still do not view Autism as a  priority with funding and future planning, it's a real concern for us and even more so as Max gets older.

We have chosen to run for this charity as they are the UK's leading charity for autistic people and their families. Their goal is to help transform lives, change attitudes and create a society where autistic people are included not excluded and are given equal opportunities just like anyone else.

Any support and donations for this fantastic charity will be greatly appreciated
