We support homeless young people and women to leave homelessness behind for good

Story

My name is Lechy, I am 17 and I've teamed up with a charity called Llamau to set up a gaming event on the 20th February. The basis of the event is to have 4 teams of 6 players compete in a double elimination bracket all within one day.

My aim is to raise £500 for Llamau as they believe that no young person or vulnerable woman should ever have to experience homelessness. Their mission is to eradicate homelessness for young people and vulnerable women. But for thousands of the most vulnerable people in Wales, homelessness is a frightening reality.

As an organisation that work with isolated vulnerable young people and women Llamau need to continue their services even in the current crisis. They will be working to ensure that they continue to support the people within their services, but are also working to make sure that young people and women who are at an increased risk of becoming homeless as a result of COVID-19 are able to get the support they need as soon as they need it.

Their essential services include: 24 hour staffed young people’s accommodation, domestic abuse refuges and advice and crisis support services for young people and women who are at risk of homelessness or domestic abuse, including our Youth Homeless Helpline. These simply must continue.

Thank you for your support
