Story
The crisis in Lebanon is going from bad to worse. Since the Beirut Blast on 4th August 2020, the financial situation - which was already very difficult - is getting even worse. A year ago 10,000 Lebanese pounds would buy you a dollar and now you can't even get 50 cents for it. Power cuts, fuel shortages and depleted medical stocks are now all part of daily life for millions of people in Lebanon.
Our emergency response is focusing on three areas:
- Basic food items, fresh bread delivered to Lebanese families who are struggling to meet their basic needs
- Hygiene kits for women. Many women are struggling to afford basic toiletries because of the pressure of unstable income a weak currency.
- Psycho-social support for children and vulnerable people still recovering from the trauma of last year's blast and the continuous hardships they face.
