Story
I’m raising money for MS UK as I grew up seeing my Grandad suffer with MS. As awful as MS is he never let it take the smile off of his face or stop him from saying hello to everyone he came by. He was West Ham’s biggest supporter and couldn’t do the washing up without singing “I’m forever blowing bubbles”. We used to watch countdown together when I came home from school-he’d win the letter rounds but I always beat him on the number rounds. He wasn’t the best cook despite pulling off a spaghetti bolognaise using uncle bens sweet and sour; luckily I learnt how to make pancakes for the both of us at a young age!
In my lifetime Grandad lost his ability to drive, went from walking with a stick to being in a wheelchair, from living at home to needing around the clock care in a care home. Unfortunately he even lost the energy to play dominos, one of his favourite board games.
There is not enough awareness, support, knowledge or nurses out there to help those suffering with MS so please donate and help MS UK assist those living with MS
MS-UK is a national charity dedicating to empowering people affected by multiple sclerosis to live happier and healthier lives. They work to improve the understanding of MS and provide support where it is needed most. MS-UK Services include a helpline providing information and emotional support, a national telephone counselling service and a bi-monthly magazine called New Pathways. Everything they do supports people to manage this incurable condition and increase their health and wellbeing.Every donation counts!£50 could pay for a telephone counselling session for someone struggling with their mental health, £200 is the cost of 10 complementary subscriptions to a New Pathways magazine for those who cannot afford it. £2,770 would help support people through our national MS-UK helpline and web chat for a whole week. Any donation you can make, big or small, will help sustain their all-important services.
