Story
In July 2003 our dad was diagnosed with aggressive Prostate cancer after attending a regular medical examination. He had no symptoms! In October 2004 he had surgery and finally in November 2009 he was given the all clear - he was cancer-free!. This was a very distressing time for all of our family. In 2005 his younger brother was also diagnosed but thankfully he too has been successfully treated. Prostate cancer is now the most common cancer diagnosed in men in the UK. According to Cancer Research UK, it accounts for one in five of all new male cancers diagnosed. For someone who has a close relative (a father, brother or son) who has had prostate cancer, the risk of developing it is increased two- or threefold. That is our story and the reason why we are running in aid of this charity. Thank you for taking the time to look at our page and only donate what you can. Many thanks Leanne & Marianne xx
