Everyone who knows me, will know I'm partial to enjoying some chocolate or sweets every now and then!! Not too often, just every day! I had attempted to give up sugar in February (for health benefits).... I lasted less than 24 hours!  This was possibly too extreme and completely unrealistic.

Now I'm not particularly religious, but the idea of giving something up, to do something good is one that sits well with me. So this Lent I will be attempting (and simply cannot fail) to give up both CHOCOLATE and SWEETS! This does mean I could get my sugar fix from biscuits or cake (not the chocolate variety) but the idea is that I try and reduce my sugar intake if I can and this will be quite the challenge. It's not simply one month sugar free, it's up until Easter!! That's the middle of April! I have to go from March 6th to April 21st WITHOUT my daily fix of chocolate or sweets! Yikes!

This came about as part of my work social media campaign for March. In honour of International Women's Day on March 8th, we will using the month of March to celebrate women in the workplace and local area. It was decided (not entirely by myself alone) that maybe it would be a nice idea to fundraise for a local charity for women. What better way to partner my own attempts of giving up something, with fundraising for a worthy cause at the same time. My previous attempts have failed quite spectacularly, but now I have the added pressure of fundraising some money at the same time, which means I simply cannot fail.

I will be fundraising for SAFE - Stop Abuse for Everyone. They are a charity based in Exeter, Devon, providing services to support women, children and families affected by domestic abuse.
