Over 1,800 collected now and final total in by Friday ,Thankyou so much for support and encouragement over last few months,I got a great deal of Satifaction at the fact I done it for my sons charity and it really will help.also I lost a stone in weight and I'm fitter and healthiest I've been in 20years

Final week of training and today was just painful,doing something everyday till Sunday then it's rest and minimal exercise before the run live on bbc2 11am Sunday 20th.looking forward now and feel ready as I can be.thanks to you all for support.

I was thinking I was getting fairly fit untill this morning,now I'm struggling to walk talk or even function ha ha,that was hardest workout in years for me.a 10 k race tomoz as warm up for the main event,cough and cold brewing aswell.better get rid ASAP

 

I am running the 10k Manchester run in aid of Diabetes uk. My son Edward was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on 17th July 2007,also other members of my family have this condition too which is controlled by 4 daily injections. Edward copes very well with this and it hasn’t stopped him in anything that he does,he plays football for Pendle Forest and cricket for Burnley. When he was 11 years old he climbed Mount Snowdon with his mum, cousin and a friend Jack. He is now 13 and hopefully soon to be on the pump thanks to the fantastic support he has received from his consultant, diabetes nurse and dietician. Hopefully this will lead to a more Independent life for him and be as normal as possible. He would love to be involved in sport when he leaves school and hopefully will get the right qualifications to fulfil this, either to become a PE teacher or to be involved with football coaching. Please give any amount however small as every penny is very much appreciated.
