Our popular challenge, 10,000 Steps a Day in February, is back, and we’re asking you to get moving to help keep up the momentum in our fight to find a cure for all types of brain tumours.

Story

In February 2013, three days after my 18th birthday, I was diagnosed with a brain tumour that I had 5% chance of surviving. It was successfully removed, but recovery wasn’t easy and I had to learn to walk again.

Fast forward to the beginning of 2023, I walk in to what I believe is my final sign off appointment after being monitored the past ten years. To my shock and absolute horror, I was told my brain tumour had grown back.

The future is very uncertain and unknown for now, but what I do know is I love a good fundraiser! I am raising money for the charity Brain Tumour Research and taking part in their '10,000 Steps a Day in February' challenge.

With February marking the month I lost the ability to walk back in when I was 18, I never thought I’d be in a postion to do this challenge, let alone celebrating my 30th birthday whilst doing it!

A big thank you to those who donate and share my story - your help and support will help save mine and many others lives in the future.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
