Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Kate and I will be running 13 miles for Breast Cancer Now.

I want to raise awareness that young people can and do get breast cancer.

After being told I was too young for breast cancer,  at age 38, I was diagnosed with an aggressive subtype (Her2+) and immediately underwent lifesaving treatment – 6 rounds of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and surgery followed by radiotherapy. With two young kids at home, it was all very tough and I’m still not sure how we got through it. But we did, and here I am running again and bothering you all for cash.

Breast Cancer Now provides vital research and information to patients and their families and is a real lifeline.

Breast Cancer Now also provides hope for the future for those people living with secondary breast cancer. There is currently no cure. 31 women die every day from this underfunded disease. It is the biggest killer of women under 50 in the UK.

But there is hope, new drugs are on the horizon and I’d love for you to help us raise money to continue this life-changing research.

I’m still receiving various treatments so training is tough but continues to help me through the hardest bits.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far and now to all of you who are sponsoring us.
