Story
Hi All,
I am going to be taking part in a charity tandem skydive on April 27th to raise money and awareness for M.E. sufferers.
M.E. (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome effects up to 250,000 people in the UK. It is more common to develop the illness between your early twenties and mid-forties.
The illness affects many parts of the body, such as the nervous and immune systems. The most common symptoms are severe fatigue or exhaustion, problems with memory and concentration and muscle pain. Another symptom is problems with the digestive system, such as nausea and loss of appetite.
There is no cure for M.E. but people do get better. In many cases 'better' may not be the same state of health before becoming unwell.
One of my best friends was diagnosed with M.E. last year and the impact on her life and of everyone surrounding her has been huge. She is still one of the strongest people I have ever met even after she has had the worst year. The road to recovery is a long one, but I have so much faith in her that she will get there and be stronger than ever.
She is an inspiration to me and many others.xx
