Story
Firstly thank you for visiting my page.
Secondly - I know funds are tight for everyone at the moment but even a couple of pounds really would mean the world to me, my family and the charity I'm raising money for (National Deaf Children's Society).
Thirdly - a little bit of history and the reason I'm running the marathon. Our little boy Bobby was born in October 2010 and six weeks later we were hit with the diagnosis that he was completely deaf. We were devastated and because neither of us have any experience or family history of deafness, we didn't know where to turn. We were introduced to the charity NDCS who arranged for us to go on a weekend away with Bobby to meet other families going through the same as us. It was a very emotional but amazing weekend and we met other parents going through the same which helpful and if I can raise money from running the marathon I will feel like I'm giving them something back in return for their help.
Bobby was implanted with cochlear implants five days before his first birthday and over a year later is doing amazing and is near enough age appropriate with his speech and language but will continue to need support throughout his school years and beyond and I believe the NDCS will continue to support us on this journey.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this far and if you can sponsor me - thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I have never run EVER in my life so this really will be a challenge for me so your support really is appreciated.
Lots of love from Lauren and Bobby xx
