In April I will be volunteering  for 10 weeks on a development programme in Cape Coast in Ghana. I’ll be working  in the Football for Hope project which helps young people  gain life and work skills (such as budgeting and ICT skills)  so that they can become more employable ( Cape Coast has a very high unemployment rate for youth who are 16 and above). This is part of International Citizen Service (ICS), which brings young people together to fight poverty and make a difference where it is needed most. ICS works with communities that have specifically requested their help and aims to inspire young people in the UK and overseas to become active citizens who are passionate about long term community development.

I need to raise £800 for Latitude, one of the respected development charities that deliver ICS. This money will allow them to keep making a positive change in the developing communities where they work. You can find out more about them on their website: http://www.lattitude.org.uk/

To raise money I’m putting on  bake sales, bag packing and doing some other food related fundraisers and events. You can keep track of how I get on with my fundraising on my Justgiving page .
