Story
Back in August 2013 my beautiful boy arrived 5weeks early. When he arrived the SCBU team were on hand straight away. He had trouble breathing so they got under control within the minute and he was taken the SCBU to receive treatment. He had to have a feeding tube and was jaundice when he born, the SCBU team were very understanding as i was a first time mum.
After 5days he was allowed back with me on the ward, we was discharged 2days later. Within the next 24hours he struggled with feeding and when the community midwife visited she told me to get him back to hospital. When we got their he was tested for his jaundice and he was seven boxes over the line on the chart which meant he had severe jaundice, we was told if we left it for another 24hours he would of developed Cerebral palsy.
He was in the SCBU for 10days and in them days he had to be back on the feeding tubes and needed triple photo therapy. My little fighter got stronger in 10days and was discharged earlier than expected.
20 months later he is a happy and healthy boy :) the SCBU were so helpful and understanding, they saved my boys life. That is why im raising money, their selfless acts go unrecognised daily.
