Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Here's Lauren's story to explain why we're running for Endometriosis UK.

In October 2008, at the age of 17, I was diagnosed with Endometriosis. Since then my life has been a story of crippling pain and multiple medicines. I signed up to run the Bath Half last year, however a severe flare up of this disease left me unable to compete and in a hospital bed for my second round of surgery a few weeks later. Endometriosis effects 1 in 10 women across the world and there is currently no known cure for the disease.

I am running the Bath Half marathon to not only to help end the silence of endometriosis and raise awareness for the amazing work Endometriosis UK do but to prove I will never be beaten.

Chick's going to be shuffling around the half marathon as well to help raise some more well-needed funds for Endo UK.

Please donate what you can big or small :)

Over 1.5 million in the UK have endometriosis and the impact of the disease is for some devastating, yet diagnosis takes on average 8 years. With your donations we are turning this around, raising awareness, providing support and information, supporting research, and campaigning for change.
