Welcome to my fundraising page for CoppaFeel! This November I will set out on a challenging, extraordinary and life-changing trek, all in the name of checking chests! I am taking on 100km of Morocco's forbidding Sahara Desert in a bid to raise vital funds towards our life-saving mission.

CoppaFeel! is a charity with a mission very close to my heart. I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in September 2021, but I had thought there might be something wrong for several months before this. The problem was, I hadn’t regularly self examined so I couldn’t figure out what my ‘normal’ was, and out of fear convinced myself that I could feel the same lump on the other side. I ignored it until it reached a point where I had a lump that was keeping me awake at night in pain. I was lucky to be diagnosed very quickly, but I’m very passionate about sharing my story and spreading the word that I didn’t need to get to having a 5.5x5cm tumour, if I had regularly self examined and known that something was changing. Prior to my diagnosis I was definitely in the camp of believing I was too young for breast cancer, so I wasn’t worried or scared at any point, until the day my biopsies were taken. I’ve been open about sharing my story and my journey on social media, with the aim of raising awareness and demystifying treatment (you can check me out on @laura.beck21 on Instagram if you'd like to!).
