Story
A few years back a good friend from Paris... Marlene, was telling me about a trip she was planning to take to Uganda and Kenya. Her friend Sheelagh had invited her along to visit the NGO's that were supported by "Lesson's for Life", the foundation Sheelagh's husband, Shane had founded.
This was a very special trip because it was the trip that Sheelagh would take after the death of Shane. A very fragile time for her and the people he worked so closely with to build the foundation.
Although I never met Shane this project, so dear to his heart, became the catalyst that changed my life. Through the generosity of Sheelagh and Marlene to include me I learned and felt the power that "Lesson's for Life" supports. It was a very emotional trip for all of us with many tears, laughs, and incredible memories.
All I can say is what a life changer!
For a week we travelled and visited many schools and organizations that count on funds from "Lesson's for Life". To be able to continue the hard work of keeping a girl in school to educating the growing population about healthcare. We met amazing dedicated people, committed to their communities and villages. The message is crucial so I continue to share my story and hope to inspire others to give and get involved.
