Traverse of Wales 2012 · 22 June 2012

We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

In 2011, a group of runners from Rolls Royce Harriers and Congleton Harriers embarked on a 'Tour of England' - a 650-mile continuous relay from Gretna Green to Dover. I loved it so much, I'm joining the team again for this year's challenge as we take on a 'Traverse of Wales'. At 368 miles the route is shorter than previous challenges, but incorporates Wales' wildest terrain and visits 50 mountain summits over 2,000 feet.

It's a continuous team relay and we aim to complete it in 3.5 days, running through the night. Head torches, a compass and several GPS systems will be our best friend in that time!

Any donations to Cancer Research UK are much appreciated.
