Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses – who we continually support and develop – provide life-changing care for families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.

Story

I am raising funds in memory of my  beautiful Grandfather "Bob". He was a very good friend of mine, we shared a beautiful and unique bond. We sang, danced and laughed together, even in the later stages of dementia he would always try to sing along. He brought laughter to everyone and was a cheeky flirt, everything he did was with a sense of humour. He showed me nothing but love and I trusted that. To trust the love of another, I believe, is the most beautiful experience one could wish for. I am so thankful for that experience and want to raise as much money and awareness as possible, in his memory. Special thanks to Nicola Williams and Carrie Daniels for taking part with me.

After a 10 year battle my Grandfather passed away less than two weeks ago. Please donate anything, it all helps. If you can't afford to donate, no problem. You can help in other ways by sharing the website for Dementia UK  or even fundraising yourself. Even something as simple as reading about what dementia is contributing to awareness. If you are reading this then you have already helped to raise awareness, so, thank you for being here.
