It was cancer that took my Dad from me in the end but Crohn's disease was what made him suffer-for 40 years.

Vomiting, diarrhea, weight loss, abdominal pain, exhaustion, skin rashes, arthristis, inflammation of the eyes and lack of concentration are just some of the effects from this terrible disease.

Some days, my Dad was able to manage the pain with the many different medications which they trialed on him. Other days were a battle. He would try to hide this from us, change the subject, focus on other things but we could see the pain laced on his face.

We never had the support we needed so urgently-he developed the disease when it was unknown & unheard of. But Crohn's and Colitis can give this support, information to the people who need it the most but not without our help.
