Story
Firstly, thanks for taking the time to check out this page, whether you choose to support my chosen charity or not.
On Saturday 18th June I will be attempting to cycle the 90 odd miles from Leicester to Skegness. Those of you that know me will be aware that I love to get out on my bike, but that this will be the furthest I have ever cycled by a long way!
With just less than 3 weeks to go I've managed to clock up a 47mile practice ride (it turns out Tilton on the Hill is pretty hilly - guess the clue was in the name). So I'm feeling a little nervous about the distance but know that cycling for the CF Trust will spur me on.
For those of you that don't know much about the CF Trust have a look at www.cftrust.org.uk . In brief, Cystic Fibrosis is one of the UK's most common life-threatening, inherited diseases. It mainly affects lung and digestive function. As well as undergoing daily physiotherapy on the chest area, those with CF are encouraged to exercise as much as possibl to help keep the lungs functioning. I teach tennis to 8 year old twins who are suffers of Cystic Fibrosis. If raising a little bit of money for this charity helps to find a cure/treatment for the disease and keep these boys and others like them playing tennis for years to come, then 90miles is nothing!
Don't feel obliged to donate, but anything you can afford will be very much appreciated.
