The Herts Air Ambulance (part of the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust) is a free, life-saving Helicopter Emergency Medical Service for critically ill or injured people in Essex, Herts & surrounding areas. It costs in the region of £500k a month to cover all charitable costs and aircraft operations.

Story

Those of you that know me know that when faced with a new opportunity I will always give it a go and that I believe strongly in supporting good causes. So, when an opportunity to be a jockey in a camel race (I've never been a jockey and I've never sat on a camel) I was only ever going to say yes; when I found out it was raising money for the Hertfordshire Air Ambulance I was hooked on the idea!

You know what the air ambulance does, simply put, it gets people to hospital quicker and ultimately saves lives. The Herts Air Ambulance is not NHS funded but is a charity providing free life-saving Helicopter Emergency Medical Service across Hertfordshire. It costs £130k a month running costs and last month they airlifted 10 people to hospital. I have never been unfortunate enough to need the help of the Air Ambulance but feel safer in the knowledge that should I ever need it, it will be there thanks to the donations of good people like you.
